Vehicle Fire Extinguished This Afternoon in Jewett City

Around 1:30 pm today Jewett City Fire Department was dispatched to the area of the 395-connector road to Rt 138 for a reported car fire. Early Morning Fire at Voluntown Lumber Yard

Sunday morning around 6:30 in the morning multiple fire departments were dispatched to a reported structure fire at the Campbell's Lumber Yard on Ekonk Hill Rd. The main building was fully engulfed in flames on arrival.  The fire was under control around 12:30.  No injuries were reported. The Fire Marshals Office and the State Fire Marshals Office is investigating.

Truck Fire in the Burrough

  This morning around 6:20 Jewett City Fire Department responded to a reported truck Fire. The truck was located in the parking lot across from the Pizza Palace which was empty at the time.  On arrival of the Fire Department the truck was fully involved.  The fire was quickly extinguished and there were no reported injuries at the time. The Griswold Fire Marshals Office is investigating.

Spooktopia a Success

The Griswold Youth and Family/Parks & Rec held a successful Spooktopia last night. The event was postponed from last Saturday due to rain. Over "2000 people" showed up at the event in the drive-thru. JCFD Annual Food Drive Nov 13

On November 13th the Jewett City Fire Department will be conducting its annual Food Drive.  The event takes place in front of the Town Hall on Main Street from 10am too 5pm.  Members will be on the road wearing vests collecting canned goods or cash from the public while they drive by.  All contributions go to the St Mary's Food Pantry for those in need.

Structure Fire in Jewett City

Today around 8:50 this morning Jewett City Fire Department, Griswold, and Lisbon Fire Departments were dispatched to a reported microwave fire on South Main Street in the Burrough.
