Around 1:30 pm today Jewett City Fire Department was dispatched to the area of the 395-connector road to Rt 138 for a reported car fire. On arrival of the fire department the van was fully involved in flames. The operator of the vehicle noticed the fire while driving and pulled over quickly calling 911.

This is the second vehicle fire for the Jewett City Fire Department in the last few weeks.  The last fire was around 6:15 in the morning on November 11th on North Main St.  Both vehicle fires quickly burned in the vehicle.

Members extinguished the fire today quickly.  At the time of the fire there were no reported injuries. The Griswold Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire.
