Arrest Made In Plainfield BB Gun Incident

On August 20, 2021 members of the Plainfield Police Department responded to the Plainfield Backus Emergency Care Center on Norwich Road for a person who had sustained an injury to their eye after being shot by a BB gun.

Upon arrival officers spoke with the 22 year old victim of Plainfield, Connecticut who said he was at a friend’s house when he was shot by the accused, 22 year old Nathan Chretien of Plainfield, Connecticut. During the course of the investigation it was determined that the victim was not the intended target and this was an isolated incident.

As a result of the investigation an arrest warrant was applied for and granted for Chretien. On February 9, 2022 Chretien was arrested without incident at his residence. Chretien was charged with Assault in the Second Degree with a Firearm, and Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm and held on a $25,000 court set bond. Chretien was scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on February 10, 2022.
