Ratoon

 

Definition:  (noun)  –  A new shoot or sprout springing from the base of a crop plant, especially sugar cane, after cropping.

 

In a sentence?  Sure! – “Rei loved giving clippings of her favorite plants’ ratoons to her friends.”

“We’re struggling with weeds in our backyard — for every few we pull, several more ratoons spring up.”
