Willimantic Man Trapped Under Tractor Trailer After Being Struck While Crossing The Street

Willimantic officials say that a 19 year old Willimantic man was rescued after being trapped under a tractor trailer on Wednesday night on Pleasant St.

The man was said to be crossing the street when he was hit by a Willimantic Waste Tractor Trailer and became trapped in a set of the truck’s rear wheels at around 8 PM.

The man was transported to Hartford Hospital by Lifestar Helicopter with non life threatening injuries to his legs and head.  He was conscious when he was recused.  The rescue took approximately 45 minutes to free the 19 year old whose name was not released.
