Troopers Arrest Driver Accused of Striking Mohegan Tribal Police Cruiser

On 11/25/2021 at approximately 0715 hours, Troopers at Troop K received a BOLO alert (Be on the Lookout)  from Mohegan Police for a Red and Black Mini Cooper, which was said to be traveling on Route 2 westbound after striking a Mohegan Police cruiser while Mohegan Police were attempting to conduct a traffic stop. Troop K dispatch announced that the Mini Cooper was involved in a crash or had become disabled on Route 2 westbound in the area of exit 22.

25 year old Jean Carlos Colon was arrested and processed Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Firearm while Intoxicated,  Interfering with an Officer.  Additionally, Mr.
Colon received a Summons for Operating While under the Influence of Alcohol, Operating a Motor Vehicle without Insurance, Operating a Motor Vehicle under Suspension, and Improper use of Marker or Registration.

Mr. Colon is scheduled to appear at Norwich Superior Court, on 12/9/2021 at 9am.
