State Police Wake Up Sleeping Jewett City Man In Car, Gets Arrested For Drugs

On December 2, 2021 at approximately 10:51 AM, Connecticut State Police Troopers out of Troop E Montville were dispatched to McKenna Ave in Jewett City because a man was spotted on the side of the road asleep in his vehicle.

When Police arrived, they were able to wake up the driver, 27 year old Kevin Huntley from Jewett City. Troopers saw narcotics and paraphernalia in plain view inside the car, as well as a small wooden club concealed between the driver’s seat and the center console.

Huntley was asked to get out of the car in which he refused. He was then guided by his arms out of the car and to the rear of his vehicle where he began to actively resist arrest by tensing his arms and trying to pull away. At this point, Troopers brought Huntley to the ground then taken into custody.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of what is to be believed as Crack and Fentanyl, individually packaged for sale, scales, paraphernalia, and cash.
Huntley was taken to Troop E where is was processed and held on a $10,000 bond and will appear in Norwich Superior Court.

Huntley has had a few brushes with Police, the most recent being an arrest on August 18, 2021 by Norwich Police for most of the same charges.
