Somers, Howard Host Virtual Discussion on Education Issues Wednesday Evening

Sen. Heather Somers and Rep. Greg Howard are hosting a virtual forum on Wednesday, Dec. 8 to discuss a wide range of educational issues

Area school officials will participate in the forum, including Griswold Superintendent of Schools Sean McKenna, Griswold Director of Teaching, Learning and Innovation Glenn LaBossiere, Preston Superintendent of Schools Roy Seitsinger, Stonington Superintendent of Schools Van Riley, and Stonington Assistant Superintendent of Schools Mary Anne Butler.

“We encourage parents to join us and to ask any questions they may have,” Somers and Howard said. “This is an important conversation which will touch upon civility and communication, education curricula, Covid recovery and accelerated learning. We thank our area school administrators for taking the time to be a part of this informational discussion.”

Griswold Public Schools Superintendent Sean McKenna feels that people could have some good “take aways” from the forum. McKenna stated “The purpose here is to share information, encourage constructive exchanges, and to increase understanding.”

The Wednesday forum runs from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. via Zoom.

For access to the Zoom meeting and to submit questions, contact Eddie.Aledia@cga.ct.gov or info@housegop.ct.gov.
