Plainfield Police Participating In Local Holiday Food Drive

Connecticut State Police along with Killingly, Plainfield, and Putnam Police Departments will be conducting their annual food drive on:

Saturday, November 21, 2020


Sunday, November 22, 2020

The events will start at 9:00 AM and end at 2:30 PM.

Items can be dropped off at Stop & Shop in Putnam and Dayville, Price Chopper in Putnam, Better Val-U in Canterbury, and Big Y in Plainfield.

You can bring non perishable food items, turkeys, and gift cards to the drive. All donations are appreciated!!

No Injuries Reported In Highway Car Fire

On Sunday, November 15, 2020, there was a reported car fire on I-395 North in between exits 18 and 22 in the town of Occum.  According to the Connecticut State Police Public Information Office it was a mechanical issue that State Police responded to as well as local fire departments.  Traffic was backed up for almost an hour and drivers diverted off of exit 18.
