On 01/26/21 at approximately 3:35 PM the Plainfield Police Department, Moosup Fire Department, Canterbury Ambulance and KB Ambulance responded to the area of 84 Lake Street for the report of a car versus pole motor vehicle crash.
The operator of the car 22 year old Carol Phaneuf was operating a 2015 Hyundai Accent in a southerly direction on Lake Street when she crossed over into the opposite lane of travel and struck the stone wall in front of the residence. The vehicle then spun and struck a utility pole where it came to final rest. The Moosup Fire Department had to extricate Phaneuf’s passenger 26 year old Vinney Phila from the vehicle.
Both Phaneu and Phila were transported to Day Kimball Hospital for what appeared to be minor injuries. At this time the accident remains under investigation.
