Official Press Release From Connecticut State Police Regarding Passing of Retired State Trooper

It is with deep regret that the Connecticut State Police announce the untimely passing of
retired Trooper First Class Patrick Dragon #705 of Brooklyn, CT.
TFC Dragon passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021, at Hartford Hospital. TFC Dragon was
a proud member of the 107th Training Troop and entered the State Police Training Academy on
January 9, 1998. Upon graduation from the Academy, TFC Dragon served as a patrol trooper at
Troop D in Danielson, as a Resident Trooper in the town of Sterling, as a Detective in the
Eastern District Major Crime Squad and as a Detective in the Fire and Explosion Investigation
Unit. TFC Dragon was also a first responder to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in
Newtown. TFC Dragon retired from the State Police on February 1, 2018.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a memorial service for TFC. Dragon is being planned for the
Spring of 2021. Additional details will be announced as the information becomes available.
