Norwich Police Searching For Shooting Suspect

April 14, 2022, the Norwich Police Department responded to a shooting incident.

Officers were dispatched to the shooting at 6:14pm in the area of the basketball courts located on West Thames Street near South Street. When patrol units arrived on scene; spent shell casings were found in the parking lot. A single victim was identified and was treated at Backus Hospital then released.

Multiple persons and vehicles fled the area at the time of the shooting. No suspect has been identified at this time. The investigation remainsopen and on-going.
