New London Man Arrested in Killingly After Found with a Firearm

On May 25, 2002 at approximately 10:15 PM, Connecticut State Troopers out of Troop D Danielson initiated a traffic stop after observing the driver on his cell phone while driving.
20 year old Jovan Kennedy from New London was pulled over on Mechanic St in Danielson and was charged with a distracted driving offense but also found that Kennedy had a firearm on him and did not have a permit.
Kennedy didn’t comply with officers and resisted arrest. He was taken into custody and charged with carrying a pistol w/o a permit, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, possession of alcohol by a minor in public, carrying a dangerous weapon, as well as interfering/resisting arrest.
Another 6 charges were assessed on Kennedy including operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license.
Kennedy had a court set bond of $20,000 and was released. Kennedy is due in court in Danielson on June 8, 2022
