On Monday, October 11, 2021, at about 4:31 PM, Troop D Connecticut State Police and Killingly Constables were called to the report of an armed robbery at Dunkin Donuts on Wauregan Rd in Killingly.
Two store employees reported that they were working when a male approached the counter telling them “Give me everything in your drawer. The man went on to say “I am not joking” and showed the store employees what looked like to be a steak knife in his hand.
The employees complied with the request and handed over what they had. The suspect left the store on foot in the northbound direction.
No injuries were reported during the incident. Troopers and Detectives developed a suspect matching the description of the accused who was later identified as 22 year old Peter James who lived just up the street from the store’s location on Wauregan Rd.
James was located at his apartment and provided a full verbal confession to the robbery.
Peter James was charged with 6th degree larceny, 1st degree robbery with a dangerous instrument, breach of peace and threatening.
