K9 Assists Drug Arrest in Borough of Jewett City

On April 5, 2022, just after 2:00, Two Connecticut State Troopers observed a suspicious vehicle on Hill St in the Borough of Jewett City.  The Troopers made contact with the driver who was identified as  36 year old Chantell Beauchamp of Pawcatuck.   Troopers became even more suspicious after some criminal indicators were observed.
A State Police K-9 was called in to assist and it was determined that the driver had approximately 3 ounces of crack cocaine, some clear glass pipes, as well as other items used to sell drugs that were concealed in the vehicle.
The woman was arrested and charged with Possession with intent to sell and Possession of a controlled substance.  The suspect was held on a $50,000 bond.
