Joint investigation with multiple law enforcement agencies leads to significant gun seizure

The Connecticut State Police Statewide Firearms Trafficking Task Force (SFTTF) and Statewide Urban Violence Cooperative Crime Control Task Force (SUVCCTF/Gangs Unit), assisted by the Statewide Narcotics Task Force (SNTF) Southwest and North Central Offices, Bridgeport Police Department, Shelton Police Department, Orange Police Department, Waterbury Police Department, Hartford Police Department, and ATF conducted a long term investigation into the illegal trafficking of “ghost guns” (illegally sold and manufactured without serial numbers) in the Greater Waterbury Area. On 03-21-22 multiple search warrants were executed at locations in Shelton, Waterbury, and Wolcott as a part of this investigation. The warrant executions resulted in the seizure of multiple illegally sold and possessed firearms to include AR-15 variant rifles and handguns, high capacity magazines and ammunition. Also seized was an amount of narcotics and other contraband. 36 year old Bryan Joyce, was arrested by State Police Detectives for weapons and narcotics related violations as part of the investigation with further arrests anticipated. This investigation is part of the collaborative law enforcement effort to disrupt weapons related violence in the State of Connecticut.
