Griswold Wrestling Team Place Well in Highlander Tournament

The Griswold Wolverines wrestling team went to Portland High School on Saturday to compete in the Highlander Tournament. Nineteen other schools competed; five were represented by a single competitor. Some of the notable wrestlers are:

  • Jason Jacaruso – 1st in the 145 weight class
  • Cory Carr- 2nd in the 220 weight class
  • Tyler  Bellisle- 3rd in the 99 weight class
  • Vashil Patel- 3rd in the 160 weight class
  • Johnny Falco- 3rd in the 195 weight class
  • Cadan Odom- 4th in the 152 weight class
  • Stephen Sims- 4th in the 182 weight class
  • Shamari Richards- 4th in the 285 weight class

The Wolverines placed fourth out of the 20 competitors. The next match for Griswold is Wednesday when they take on Montville.

The Griswold Wolverines and Plainfield Panthers boys' basketball teams went to battle on Saturday. Griswold was hoping to end a two game losing streak.
