Griswold Wolverines Clinch Playoff Spot

On Monday night, the Griswold Wolveirnes boys’ basketball team were looking to clinch a spot in the playoffs with a win over the Parish Hill Pirates. The Wolverines’ Max Gregory scored the game’s first points with a three- pointer. Gregory went on to score seven more points in the quarter. Griswold jumped out to a 17- 9 lead after the first quarter. Matt Dembinski scored  the first points of the second quarter and helped the Wolverines extend their lead. Griswold went into halftime leading 31-14. The Pirates attempted to come back in the third quarter. Henry Tieman scored five points in the quarter and Parish Hill closed the gap, trailing 39-25. With a playoff spot on the line, the Wolverines dominated the fourth quarter. C.J. Mattson scored eight points in the quarter. Max Gregory had seven points in the fourth quarter as well. Nick Gileau returned to the lineup after missing the past two games with the flu. Gileau scored nine points on his return. Fellow Wolverine, Chris Roddy, also returned to the court tonight after missing several games due to injury.  Griswold defeated the Pirates 61-47. Max Gregory was the team-leading scorer with 19 points. The next game for Griswold is Thursday at home against Windham Tech. Wolverine Radio will have a live broadcast of the game, starting at 7:00.
