Griswold-Wheeler Lets Big Lead Slip Away Against Windham After Franklin Injury

The Wolverines came out of the chute hot on Thursday afternoon scoring the first 27 points of the game.

In the 2nd quarter, star senior, Anthony Franklin went up against double coverage from a bomb thrown by quarterback Jaiden Curtin-Quinn.  Franklin almost came down with it, a reception that would surely put the Wolverines in striking distance of another score.  Franklin came down and hit hard and had to leave the game.  There is no word on the severity of Franklin’s injury, he is expected to go to UCONN Medical Center on Friday for an MRI.  The injury is suspected to be his ACL.

With Franklin out of the game, Windham then scored 33 unanswered points and left the Wolverines only 2:15 left in the game with a running clock to come back.  Griswold did march down the field to the 10 yard line after going 60 yards within time remaining, but a necessary rushed play ended up in an incomplete touchdown pass attempt.

Windham Defeats Griswold, 33-27
