The Griswold Senior Center is holding an event this coming weekend on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at the Griswold Public Works Garage, 1148 Voluntown Road (Route 138) in Griswold.

Plain and simple, they are giving away food with a program called From Farm to Families.

A tractor trailer truck is arriving at the site that morning at approximately 7:30 AM filled with food and dairy products. Half of the contents will be available for Griswold residents and the other half will be distributed in the town of Colchester.

You don’t need to qualify, there is no paperwork to fill out to receive a food box. It will be distributed on a first come first serve basis until they run out.

The food boxes contain 5 lbs of vegetables, 5 lbs of meat, 5 lbs of dairy, and a gallon of milk. Food distribution will start at 8:30 AM and go until 12:00 Noon unless supplies run out sooner.

When you arrive, you will need to stay in your car and pop open your trunk. All residents are asked to please wear a mask during the distribution.

This event may be repeated on October 31, 2020. Stay tuned to SNSN Internet Radio for future reports.
