On January 9, 2022 at approximately 11:33 PM, 46 year old James Tanner of Colchester, was driving his 2008 Mercury Milan the wrong way. Tanner was traveling west in the east bound lane on RT 2A in Montville, on the off ramp of I-395 South.
While driving the wrong way on the ramp, Tanner side swiped a 2009 Mercedes Benz driven by 34 year old Justin Cheney of West Hartford.
Tanner was arrested after a traffic stop was made by State Police and charged him with failure to drive in the proper lane and driving under the influence.
The incident remains under investigation.
