Somers Hosting Hopeville State Park Cleanup This Saturday

GRISWOLD – Sen. Heather Somers, The Last Green Valley, and Friends of Pachaug Forest are inviting the public to participate in an “Earth Day Cleanup” this Saturday, Apr. 23 at Hopeville State Park in Griswold.

“Spring is here, and it’s a great time to get together to help beautify a wonderful resource like Hopeville State Park,” Sen. Somers said.  “I look forward to seeing folks on Saturday.”

The event will begin at 7 a.m. and end at 1 p.m. at the park at 929 Hopeville Road in Griswold. Trash bags will be supplied to volunteers at the park’s pavilion.

Last Saturday, Sen. Somers and volunteers teamed up to cleanup Bluff Point State Park in Groton.
