Griswold Wolverines Can’t Stop Whippets

The Griswold Wolverines boys’ basketball team took on the Windham Whippets on Tuesday night. Griswold was without Bryce Mileski and Chris Roddy, both of whom had illnesses. The Wolverines had a hard time stopping Clifford Jones, a senior forward for the Whippets. He scored the first nine points for Windham. The Whippets led 27 to 11 after the first quarter. Jones ended the half scoring 28 points. The Wolverines trailed 50 to 27 at halftime. Griswold attempted to make a comeback. Pharoah Curtis scored six points in the third quarter. The Wolverines trailed the Whippets 71 to 46. Max Gregory started off the fourth quarter strong. He hit two three-pointers, and finished the night with 14 points. With a little over three minutes remaining in the game, many of the JV players took to the court. Raymond Ceccarelli scored four points, and had one rebound in the final two minutes of the game. Griswold lost to Windham 89 to 64. The next game for the Wolverines is Friday.  It is Senior night, and Wolverine Radio will have a live broadcast of the game starting at 7:00pm.
