Griswold Wolverines Battle Montville, With Two Key Players Inactive

On Thursday night, the Griswold Wolverines went to Montville to take on the Indians. The Wolverines were coming off of a loss to Lyman Memorial earlier this week. To add to the challenge, the Wolverines’ were without Bryce Mileski and Nick Gileau, who both missed the game due to illness. Montville put points up quickly, due in part to John Domijan. Domijan scored the first points of the game and 11 of the team’s 14 points in the first quarter. Wolverines Guard Max Gregory scored 4 points in the first quarter. The Indians led the Wolverines 14-6 by the end of the first quarter. The second quarter began with Domijan scoring again. He finished the first half with 18 points. Griswold closed the gap and finished trailing 21-15 at half-time. When the third quarter began, Montville’s Domijan could not be stopped. He finished the quarter with 7 points. Griswold began to trail again, but they started to rally in the fourth quarter. Max Gregory led the charge with 12 points in the fourth quarter. Gregory finished the game as the Wolverines’ leading scorer with 21 points. John Domijan was too much for the Wolverines, and he finished the night with 32 points. Griswold lost to Montville 50-45. The Wolverines have now lost two games in a row for the first time this season. The next game for the Wolverines is Saturday at Plainfield.
