Four Arrested in Jewett City School Street Stabbing Incident

On Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at about 9:40 AM, Troopers responded to 18 School St for the report of an individual with a knife who was trying to stab another individual who is not being identified.
When the Troopers arrived, they spoke with the victim and stated they did get into a physical altercation with a number of others. 20 year old Rachel Duckworth-ranson was arrested for stabbing the victim and charged with 2nd degree assault, 2nd degree criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct. Duckworth-Ranson was processed and released after making bail on a $5,000 bond.
Another suspect, that was identified on scene was 22 year old Randy Duckworth-Ranson, who was located on Brown Ave after leaving the scene, was suffering from injuries that he sustained during the altercation on School St. Duckworth was taken to Backus Hospital for treatment and then processed at Troop E. Duckworth was charged with disorderly conduct, 3rd degree assault, as well as 3rd degree strangulation/suffocation. He was held on a $25,000 bond and transferred to Corrigan Correctional since he was unable to make bond.
Also involved was 21 year old Jenzy Taveras who had sustained injuries as well was taken to Backus Hospital and charged with disorderly conduct and 3rd degree assault. She was held on a $500 bond and released.
One other person was involved in the altercation, 23 year old Alyssa Dickert. She was found away from the scene with Randy Duckworth-Ranson and charged with disorderly conduct. Dickert was released on a promise to appear in court on February, 17, 2022.
