Connecticut State Police were dispatched to Eastern Ct Savings Bank at 1 Slater Ave at 2:59 today for the report of a bank robbery. Eastern District Major Crime Squad is also responding to the scene to assist in the investigation.
This is an active and ongoing investigation with State Police. According to Sgt. Pagan at Connecticut State Police, there is no immediate danger to the public and more information will be shared when available.
Griswold Public Schools did hold back their elementary school dismissal due to the ongoing investigation. Griswold Superintendent of Schools Sean McKenna did send out a communication to parents explaining the late dismissal and said it had no connection to the school and was only done as an “abundance of caution.”
