Academy Hill Accident Sends Moosup Woman to the Hospital


On February 18
th at approximately 2:20 P.M., members of the Plainfield Police Department responded to the area of Norwich Road, Plainfield, Connecticut at the intersection of Cemetery Road for a report of a two car motor vehicle crash. American Legion Ambulance and Plainfield Fire Department were requested to the scene.

Upon arriving on scene an investigation was conducted which revealed 33 year old Nicholas Labonte, of Putnam, was traveling westbound on Academy Hill Road towards the intersection of Norwich Road. Upon crossing Norwich Road Labonte collided with 62 year old Cheryl Miller of Moosup.

Miller was traveling northbound on Norwich Road at the time of the crash causing disabling damage to both vehicles and blocking the intersection for a short time. The airbags were deployed in both vehicles.

Miller was subsequently transported to Backus Emergency Care Center in Plainfield for possible injuries. The investigation remains open and anyone who witnessed the crash is being asked to contact the Plainfield Police Department at 860-564-0804.
