On December 8, 2021 at approximately 7:24 A.M., members of the Plainfield Police Department responded to a three car motor vehicle crash with injuries in front of the Plainfield High School located at 105 Putnam Road, Plainfield, CT. Central Village Fire Department, American Legion Ambulance and Mortlake Ambulance also responded to the scene.
Upon arriving on scene an investigation was conducted which revealed a Jeep being operated by Cynthia Steenson, 54, of Rhode Island was traveling northbound on Putnam Road when it rear ended a Mini Cooper being operated by Lydia Mackela, 29, of Plainfield. This caused Mackela’s Mini Cooper to collide with the rear of a Dodge Grand Caravan being operated by Phillip Davenport, 35, of Plainfield which had a juvenile passenger.
Both Mackela and Steenson were transported to Backus Hospital in Norwich, CT for treatment of reported injuries. Steenson was cited for Following too Closely.
