On December 10, 2020, at approximately 9:54 a.m., Officers from the Plainfield Police Department along with the Plainfield Fire Department, and American Legion Ambulance responded to a two-car motor vehicle crash on Norwich Road Plainfield, CT.
22-year-old Brandon Griffin of Putnam, CT was traveling northbound on Norwich Road operating a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee when he subsequently lost control of the vehicle and veered into the oncoming southbound lane. A collision occurred with a 2004 Ford F-150 being operated by 38-year-old Frederick Zerbe of Brooklyn, CT. The collision caused Zerbe’s vehicle to overturn in the roadway and both vehicles sustained heavy damage as a result.
Zerbe was transported by American Legion Ambulance to Plainfield Backus Emergency Department with possible injuries.
Griffin was issued a Misdemeanor Summons for Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Failure to Carry Insurance, Misuse of Registration Plates, and Failure to Maintain Lane.
Zerbe was issued a Misdemeanor Summons for Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License.
Both individuals were released on scene on a Promise to Appear and are scheduled to appear at the Danielson Superior Court on February 8, 2021.
