Suspect Apprehended After Shots Fired in Norwich

On May 3, 2022, the Norwich Police Department responded to a report of shots fired.

Officers were dispatched to the shooting at 7:30 am on East Main Street. When patrol units arrived on scene a single female victim was identified. The victim had a gunshot wound through and through her left leg and is being treated at Backus Hospital. The suspect had his juvenile child with him at the time of the shooting. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. The investigation remains open and on-going.

At approximately 9:30 am with the assistance of Hartford and CT State Police the suspect, 46 year old Larry Brown, was apprehended in Hartford. The juvenile was also located safe and unharmed.
